Key takeaways
- Photon's documentation states that a Photon trading wallet's private key is revealed only once, when the wallet is generated, and must be saved before clicking Continue.
- BullX NEO's documentation states that BullX provides your private keys one time only and cannot recover them for you in the future.
- With the saved key, rent in a Photon or BullX wallet's empty token accounts can be reclaimed by importing the key into Phantom or Solflare and closing the accounts there.
- Each coin a Photon or BullX wallet buys opens a token account holding 0.00148844 SOL, or 0.00203928 SOL if opened before Solana lowered rent in 2026.
- As of November 2026, neither Photon's nor BullX NEO's official docs describe a built-in feature for closing empty token accounts.
The short answer
Photon and BullX NEO both generate a trading wallet for you and show its private key only once. If you saved that key, import it into Phantom or Solflare, confirm the address matches, and close the empty token accounts with a closer; each returns 0.00148844 SOL, or 0.00203928 SOL if opened before Solana lowered rent in 2026. If you did not save it, outside tools cannot help, because only the wallet's owner can sign a close. Withdraw what you can and start a new wallet whose key you keep.
The general method for bot wallets is in reclaiming SOL from trading bot wallets. This post covers what is specific to Photon and BullX, checked against their docs on November 5, 2026.
How do Photon and BullX hold your wallet?
Both create the trading wallet themselves.
Photon. Its Solana guide has you connect Phantom to log in, then "a new wallet will be generated for you." Phantom is your login and funding source; the trading happens from the separate Photon wallet. Photon allows up to 5 active wallets at a time, per its multi-wallet page.
BullX NEO. BullX's current docs describe BullX NEO at neo.bullx.io, logged in through the BullX NEO Telegram bot. Its wallet manager creates additional wallets with "New +" then "Wallet", and also lets you import a private key.
Either way, the token accounts belong to the app's wallet address, not to your Phantom.
What do the docs say about exporting the key?
Both say the same thing in different words: once, at the start, and never again.
| Photon | BullX NEO | |
|---|---|---|
| When the key is shown | When the trading wallet is generated | When you first log in and BullX provides your keys |
| Official wording | "Your private key will be revealed ONLY ONCE at this step." | BullX "will only provide you with your private keys one time" |
| Can it be shown again? | No method described | "cannot recover them for you in the future" |
| What the docs recommend | Save it "in a safe place before clicking Continue" | Import into "Phantom, Solflare, Rabby, etc." |
| Built-in account cleanup | Not in the docs | Not in the docs |

How do you reclaim the rent if you saved the key?
- Find the saved key. A password manager entry, a written copy, wherever you put it at signup. It is a long base58 string.
- Import it into a wallet app. Use Phantom's or Solflare's Import Private Key screen on a device you trust, with screen sharing off.
- Match the address. The imported address must equal the Photon or BullX trading wallet address exactly. If you have several trading wallets, import each key in turn.
- Connect to a closer. SOLTidy's Token Account Closer scans SPL Token and Token-2022 accounts, preselects the empty ones and batches them; each batch is simulated before you sign, and accounts that changed since the scan are dropped. The wallet cleanup on the home page adds dust, NFTs and pump.fun creator fees and cashback to the same scan.
- Review. Untick coins you will trade again soon. Untick the pump.fun accumulators if the wallet still trades pump.fun coins, since the next trade recreates them.
- Sign each batch and check the SOL arrived in the trading wallet. The app shows the new balance too.
The fee is 5% of the SOL recovered, taken inside each transaction, and nothing for a transaction that recovers nothing. If you are retiring several Photon or BullX wallets at once, the Wallet Consolidator sweeps SOL and tokens from many wallets into one and closes emptied accounts on the way, for 0.0009 SOL per wallet; it needs each private key pasted into the page, kept in your browser only, so use it only for disposable wallets.
What if you didn't save the key?
Then the account rent is out of reach for every outside tool, SOLTidy included. Closing an account requires the owner's signature, and only the app can produce it now. What you can still do:
- Withdraw your SOL. Photon's guide describes entering an amount and destination address and clicking Withdraw. BullX NEO has its own withdraw flow.
- Sell or move remaining tokens you want to keep.
- Ask official support whether they offer a cleanup or close option for your wallet. Use only the support links in the app's docs.
- Start a new wallet and save its key. BullX NEO can also import a private key, so you can trade from a wallet you created yourself.
- Ignore recovery offers. Nobody can recover a lost key. A "support agent" or site offering to do it for a fee is a scam, and the next step is usually asking for your seed phrase.
Keep the amount in perspective: 100 empty accounts hold about 0.15 to 0.20 SOL.
How much rent does a Photon or BullX wallet hold?
It scales with the number of different coins, not with volume. Every new coin creates one token account; selling empties it but leaves it open.
| Item | Per item | 100 items |
|---|---|---|
| Empty token account, opened after the 2026 rent change | 0.00148844 SOL | 0.1488 SOL |
| Empty token account, opened before it | 0.00203928 SOL | 0.2039 SOL |
| pump.fun or PumpSwap volume accumulator | 0.0013462 SOL | at most 2 per wallet |
Paste the trading wallet's address into an explorer and open its token accounts view to count yours. The accumulators can also hold pump.fun cashback; reclaiming SOL after pump.fun trades explains how to claim it before closing.
How do you keep this from happening again?
- Save the key at the moment it is shown. A password manager's secure notes, or paper stored safely. BullX suggests both.
- Import it into a wallet app right away and check the address, so you know the backup works.
- Clean up every month or two if you keep trading; leave open accounts for coins you trade repeatedly.
- Keep trading wallets small. The key now exists in two places. The Solana wallet security checklist covers the rest.
Bottom line
With Photon and BullX NEO, the key you saved on day one decides everything. Saved it: import, match the address, close the empty accounts. Lost it: no outside tool can close those accounts, so withdraw your SOL, start a wallet whose key you keep, and ignore anyone selling recovery. Telegram bots handle export differently; see reclaiming SOL from Trojan and BONKbot.
Questions & answers
Can I export my Photon private key later?
Not according to Photon's documentation. It says the trading wallet's private key is revealed only once, at the step where the wallet is generated, and asks you to save it before clicking Continue. If you did not save it then, the docs describe no way to show it again.
Can BullX recover my private key?
No. BullX NEO's private keys page says BullX will only provide your private keys one time and cannot recover them for you in the future. It recommends storing them somewhere only you can access and importing them into a standard wallet such as Phantom, Solflare or Rabby.
I lost my Photon or BullX key. Can I still get the rent back?
Not with an outside tool, because closing a token account needs the owner's signature and only the app can sign for that wallet now. Withdraw your SOL and tokens through the app, contact its official support if the rent matters to you, and create a new wallet whose key you save. Anyone offering to recover the key for a fee is running a scam.
How much SOL is in a Photon or BullX wallet's empty accounts?
One token account per coin the wallet bought. Each holds 0.00148844 SOL, or 0.00203928 SOL if it was opened before Solana's 2026 rent change. A wallet that bought 100 different coins has about 0.15 to 0.20 SOL in empty accounts, plus up to 0.0027 SOL in pump.fun and PumpSwap accumulators.
Does Photon still exist, and what is BullX NEO?
As of November 2026, Photon's docs still point to its Solana app at photon-sol.tinyastro.io. BullX's current docs describe BullX NEO, reached at neo.bullx.io and logged in through the BullX NEO Telegram bot. Use the links in each app's official docs rather than search ads, which are a common phishing route.
