How the snapshot works
For a token, the tool asks the RPC for every token account of the mint (getProgramAccounts on the SPL Token or Token-2022 program, filtered by mint) and adds up the balances of each owner, so a wallet with three token accounts counts once with its total. Accounts with a zero balance are ignored. Very large mints can exceed what a public RPC will return in one call; the tool then falls back to a DAS indexer when one is configured, with a 100,000-account cap.
For an NFT collection, it pages the DAS method getAssetsByGroup for the verified collection address and counts how many NFTs each owner holds, skipping burnt assets. Compressed NFTs are included. A listed NFT is held by the marketplace escrow while it is listed, so that escrow shows up as an owner; the pool and program filter removes it. A CSV import accepts any list: one address per line, with an optional second column that acts as a weight for filters and pro-rata, or as an exact amount.
Running a fair airdrop: who to exclude
The biggest holders of most tokens are not people. Liquidity pool vaults on Raydium, Orca, Meteora and PumpSwap, the pump.fun bonding curve, lockers and escrows usually sit at the top of the list, and an airdrop to them is lost or ends up in the pool. The pool and program filter looks up each owner on chain and drops any owner that is a program account, plus any owner address that is off the ed25519 curve (a PDA with no private key). It walks down the ranking 100 owners at a time, so a top-500 airdrop from a 50,000-holder token needs only a handful of lookups.
Exchange hot wallets hold tokens for thousands of customers, and an airdrop there goes to the exchange, not to its users. The exchange filter removes a short built-in list of well-known Binance, Coinbase, OKX, Bybit, Kraken, Gate, KuCoin, MEXC and Bitget wallets; exchanges use many more addresses, so check the top of your list and paste any others into the exclude list. Burn addresses such as the incinerator and your own wallet are excluded by default. A minimum balance keeps out dust wallets created by bots, and a maximum stops one whale from taking most of a pro-rata airdrop.
| Filter | Removes | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Pools and program vaults | Owners owned by a program (AMM vaults, curves, escrows) and off-curve PDAs | One RPC lookup per 100 owners checked |
| Known exchange wallets | Built-in list of major exchange hot wallets | Free, offline |
| Burn addresses | Incinerator and system burn addresses | Free, offline |
| Min / max balance | Wallets below or above your bounds | Free, offline |
| Exclude list | Any address you paste | Free, offline |
| Top N | Everyone after the N largest eligible holders | Free, applied last |
Amounts and what an airdrop costs
Equal gives every eligible wallet the same amount and is the usual choice for a community reward. Pro-rata splits a total in proportion to each wallet's balance (or NFT count, or CSV weight) using exact integer math; each share is rounded down, so the few units of rounding dust stay in your wallet instead of being over-sent. Tiered pays a fixed amount per tier: with tiers at 1, 1,000 and 100,000 tokens paying 10, 50 and 200, a wallet holding 5,000 gets 50. When you open tiers, the thresholds start at the smallest eligible balance, the median and the 90th percentile, ready for you to adjust.
Wallets whose amount comes out as zero are dropped before sending, and the panel says how many. When you send a token, owners that are off-curve addresses are always skipped, because tokens sent to a PDA's token account can only be moved by that program. If you send SOL, a brand-new address must receive at least the rent-exempt minimum (0.00065024 SOL today), and review blocks the send until those wallets are raised or filtered out.
Sending uses the same engine as the SOLTidy multisender: up to 20 SOL transfers or 9 token transfers per transaction, each transaction paying its own fee of 0.0009 SOL per recipient inside it, so a stopped or failed transaction is never charged. For a token, every recipient without a token account for your mint needs one created at 0.00148844 SOL of rent, which you pay. Review reads every recipient's associated token account before you sign, so the total is exact.
Worked example: a token airdrop to 1,000 holders who have never held it takes about 112 transactions, 1.49 SOL of rent, 0.9 SOL of SOLTidy fees and about 0.0006 SOL of network fees, around 2.39 SOL in all. Holders who already have the token account cost no rent. Each transaction is a separate wallet approval, and if you stop or a transaction fails, Retry sends only to wallets that were not paid, after checking the chain so nobody is paid twice.
Questions & answers
Can I airdrop to NFT holders on Solana?
Yes. Choose NFT holders and paste the verified collection address (the mint of the collection NFT). The tool lists every holder through the DAS API and counts their NFTs, which you can use for equal, pro-rata or tiered amounts. This needs a DAS-capable RPC; if it is not available, export holders with the NFT holder snapshot elsewhere and import the CSV.
How do I exclude liquidity pools and exchanges from an airdrop?
Keep the pool and program filter on: it removes owners that are program accounts and off-curve addresses, which covers AMM vaults, the pump.fun curve, lockers and escrows. The exchange filter removes a built-in list of well-known exchange hot wallets. Because exchanges use many addresses, check the largest remaining wallets and paste any others into the exclude list.
What is a pro-rata airdrop?
Each wallet receives a share of a total in proportion to its balance. If you split 1,000,000 tokens and a holder owns 2% of the eligible balance, they get 20,000. Shares are rounded down to whole raw units, so the tiny remainder stays with you. Set a maximum balance to stop the largest holder from dominating.
What does the airdrop tool cost?
Snapshots and filters are free. Sending costs 0.0009 SOL per recipient, paid inside each transaction, plus Solana network fees and, for tokens, 0.00148844 SOL of rent for each recipient that has no token account for your mint yet. The review box shows every part before you sign.
Can I hand the list to the multisender instead?
Yes. Open in Multisender carries the final address, amount list to the multisender, where you can edit it line by line before sending. You can also export the list as CSV for your records or for a claim site.
