How a DAMM v2 deposit works
Meteora's DAMM v2 program prices a pool from its square-root price and adds liquidity in proportion to it. Given the amount of one token you want to add, the program's math (the same function Meteora's SDK uses for quotes) gives the liquidity that buys and the exact amount of the other token it needs. You deposit both at the current ratio, so adding liquidity doesn't move the price.
Each deposit here opens a new position, represented by a Token-2022 NFT in your wallet. Whoever holds the NFT controls the position: they can withdraw it, if it isn't locked, and claim its fees. Prices can move between your review and confirmation, so the deposit sets a ceiling on each token. If the pool needs more than that, the transaction fails rather than take it.
Permanent lock: when to use it
A permanent lock makes the position's liquidity impossible to withdraw, for anyone, forever. It's the standard way for a team to show that its pool can't be drained. The position keeps earning trading fees, and the NFT holder can claim them with the Meteora fee claimer.
Only lock liquidity you intend to leave in the pool for good. Without the lock, you can withdraw the position at any time on Meteora.
Costs and limits
SOLTidy charges a flat 0.09 SOL per deposit. The new position account, its NFT mint and token account take about 0.01 SOL of rent. Meteora charges no fee to add liquidity.
Pools at the edge of their price range accept only one of their two tokens, and the tool tells you which. Disabled pools can't take deposits. Meteora's DLMM and DAMM v1 pools use other programs and aren't searched.
Questions & answers
How do I find the Meteora pool for my token?
Paste the token's mint address. SOLTidy lists every DAMM v2 pool that has the token on either side, with its liquidity and price, so you can pick the right one.
Why does the second amount fill in by itself?
A DAMM v2 deposit has to match the pool's current price. When you type one amount, the tool calculates the other token needed for the same liquidity.
Can I withdraw later?
Yes, unless you chose the permanent lock. The position NFT in your wallet can withdraw on Meteora at any time. Locked positions can never be withdrawn, but still earn fees.
What does adding liquidity cost?
SOLTidy's flat 0.09 SOL plus about 0.01 SOL of rent for the new position and its NFT, and the network fee. Meteora charges nothing to deposit.
Do I need wrapped SOL?
No. For SOL pairs your SOL is wrapped inside the transaction and whatever isn't deposited is unwrapped back to SOL before it ends.
