Convert SOL to USD at the live Solana price

Type an amount of SOL to see its value in dollars, euros or pounds, or type a fiat amount to see how much SOL it buys. Live price, lamports included.

How it works

  1. 1

    Enter an amount

Type in the SOL field or the currency field — the other side updates as you type. Quick chips fill in common amounts such as 0.1, 1, 10 and 100 SOL, or 10, 100 and 1,000 in your currency.

  2. 2

    Choose a currency

Switch between USD, EUR and GBP. The converter also shows the amount in lamports, the integer unit Solana uses on chain.

  3. 3

Check the price and its age

The rate for 1 SOL, its 24-hour change and how long ago it was updated are shown under the fields. The price refreshes every 60 seconds, or when you press Refresh.

How is the SOL to USD price determined?

There is no official price of SOL. It trades around the clock on centralised exchanges such as Binance, Coinbase and Kraken, and on Solana's own decentralised exchanges, and each venue has its own last trade. Price aggregators combine those markets into one volume-weighted figure. This converter uses the aggregate SOL price published by CoinGecko in US dollars, euros and British pounds, together with the change over the past 24 hours.

The figure is fetched by SOLTidy's server and shared between visitors for about 60 seconds, so the number you see can be up to a minute or so behind the market — the panel shows its age. That is accurate enough to value a balance, price an invoice or sanity-check a fee. It is not an execution price: when you actually swap, the rate depends on the venue, the size of your order, the spread and any slippage.

How to convert SOL to USD by hand

The arithmetic is a single multiplication: amount in SOL times the price of one SOL gives the value in dollars. Going the other way, divide the dollar amount by the price. If one SOL costs P dollars, then 0.1 SOL is worth P ÷ 10 and 25 dollars buys 25 ÷ P SOL. The conversion table under the tool applies exactly this to common amounts at the current price, so questions like how much is 0.1 SOL or what does 100 dollars of SOL look like are answered at a glance.

If the live price cannot be loaded, the converter asks you for a price instead and carries on working with the number you enter. That is also useful for what-if questions: type a hypothetical price and see what your holdings, or a fee quoted in SOL, would be worth at that level. Nothing you enter is saved, and the live price takes over again as soon as it is available.

Lamports to USD: the unit behind every SOL amount

On chain, SOL does not have decimals. Balances, fees and rent are all stored as whole numbers of lamports, and one SOL is exactly 1,000,000,000 lamports. When a developer tool, an RPC response or a program log shows a number like 2039280, it is lamports: 0.00203928 SOL, the rent deposit held by a standard token account. To value it in dollars, divide by one billion and multiply by the SOL price.

The converter shows the lamport value of whatever amount you enter, so you can move between SOL, lamports and your currency in one place. Because lamports are integers, amounts are rounded to nine decimal places of SOL — there is nothing smaller. For conversions that do not involve a fiat price at all, the dedicated SOL to lamports converter is quicker.

Why Solana fees cost a different amount in dollars every day

Solana's fees are fixed in SOL terms, not in dollars. The base fee is 5,000 lamports per signature, and the rent-exempt deposit for a token account is 2,039,280 lamports, whatever the market is doing. When the price of SOL doubles, the dollar cost of sending a transaction or opening a token account doubles with it; when the price falls, so does the cost. Nothing about the network changed — only the exchange rate.

The same applies to SOL you can get back. A wallet that has collected a few hundred empty token accounts has real money locked in rent deposits, and its dollar value moves with the price. Converting a lamport or SOL figure to dollars is the easiest way to decide whether a fee is worth worrying about or whether reclaiming rent is worth a few minutes.

Questions & answers

How much is 1 SOL in USD right now?

The current price of one SOL is shown in the panel at the top of this page, on the line that starts with 1 SOL, together with its 24-hour change and the age of the quote. It is not written into this text on purpose: the price moves every second, and a number typed into an article is wrong by the time you read it.

How do I convert SOL to USD?

Multiply the amount of SOL by the current price of one SOL. The converter does this as you type: enter the SOL amount and read the dollar value, or enter dollars and read the SOL amount. To turn SOL into actual dollars in a bank account you need an exchange or an off-ramp service; this page calculates values and does not trade.

How much is 0.1 SOL or 0.01 SOL in dollars?

0.1 SOL is one tenth of the SOL price and 0.01 SOL is one hundredth. Press the 0.1 SOL chip to see the exact value now, or look at the conversion table below the converter, which lists 0.01, 0.1, 0.5, 1, 5, 10, 25, 100 and 1,000 SOL at the live price in the currency you have selected.

Is the SOL to USD converter free?

Yes, completely. It is a calculator with a live price feed. There is no fee, no sign-up and no limit on use. SOLTidy charges fees only on a few tools that send transactions and recover or move SOL for you, and those fees are always shown before you sign. Nothing on this page involves a transaction.

Do I need to connect a wallet? Is it safe?

No wallet is needed and the page never asks for one. The amounts you type stay in your browser; they are not sent to SOLTidy or to the price provider. The only request the page makes is for the public SOL price. Because no wallet is connected and nothing is signed, there is no way for this tool to touch your funds.

Where does the price come from and how often does it update?

The price is CoinGecko's aggregate SOL rate in USD, EUR and GBP, which blends many exchanges weighted by volume. SOLTidy's server caches it for about 60 seconds and the page asks again every 60 seconds while the tab is visible, so a quote is typically less than two minutes old. The panel shows exactly how old the current one is.

How do I convert lamports to USD?

Divide the lamports by 1,000,000,000 to get SOL, then multiply by the SOL price. For example, 5,000 lamports — the base fee of a transaction — is 0.000005 SOL. Enter 0.000005 in the SOL field to see its dollar value. The converter also works in reverse and shows the lamport value of any SOL or dollar amount you type.

Why is the price here slightly different from my exchange or wallet?

Every venue has its own order book, so prices differ by a small amount at any moment, and aggregated prices lag live trading by seconds to a minute. Exchanges also show the price for their own pair, often against USDT or USDC rather than dollars. Treat this converter as a fair reference value, and the quote on your exchange as the price you would actually get.

Is this tool free?

The SOL to USD converter is free. It is a calculator: it needs no wallet, moves no funds and never sends a transaction.
