What happens on chain when you launch
pump.fun's program creates the coin itself: a Token-2022 mint with its name, symbol and metadata link stored in the mint, a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens with 6 decimals, and a bonding curve that holds the whole supply. The program removes the mint and freeze authority, so nobody can print more or freeze holders.
If you set a dev buy, the same transaction creates your token account and buys from the curve. Because the curve is created in that transaction, the price can't move between the two: your buy gets the first, cheapest tokens. The maximum slippage you set caps what you pay.
What a pump.fun launch costs
pump.fun charges nothing to create a coin. Your dev buy pays pump.fun's trading fee, which is part of the SOL you spend (as of November 2026, 0.95% protocol fee plus 0.30% to the coin's creator, which is you). SOLTidy charges a flat 0.1 SOL per launch, inside the same transaction. On top come a few thousandths of a SOL of Solana network fees.
Example: a 0.5 SOL dev buy costs 0.5 SOL for the buy (fees included) plus 0.1 SOL to SOLTidy, about 0.6 SOL in total, and the tokens you buy are in your wallet the moment it confirms.
pump.fun or your own pool?
pump.fun is the cheapest start: no liquidity to provide and a fair-launch curve traders already know. When the curve fills, the coin moves to an AMM on its own. If you want your own supply, decimals and a pool priced by your deposit from the first second, use the Raydium launcher or the Meteora launcher instead. The Safe Launch page compares all three.
Questions & answers
Can I change the supply or decimals on pump.fun?
No. pump.fun fixes every coin at 1,000,000,000 tokens with 6 decimals and handles the authorities itself. To choose your own supply, launch with a pool on Raydium or Meteora.
Why buy in the same transaction?
So the first buy is yours. A buy sent after the coin appears can be beaten by bots watching for new coins; a buy inside the create transaction cannot.
Is there a maximum dev buy?
Your buy can't take more than the tokens left on the curve. A larger amount only pays for what's there, and the curve then completes.
Is this non-custodial?
Yes. The mint key is generated in your browser, you sign the transaction in your own wallet, and the coin and tokens are yours. SOLTidy never holds them.
Does SOLTidy upload to pump.fun?
No. The logo and metadata are uploaded to SOLTidy's storage, at links named after a hash of each file, and the transaction points the coin at that link.
Is there a fee?
A pump.fun launch costs SOLTidy's flat 0.1 SOL fee, paid in the same transaction. pump.fun charges no fee to create a coin; your dev buy pays pump.fun's normal trading fee, and the SOL you spend on the buy is yours to keep as tokens.
