SOLTidy vs RugCheck
Use RugCheck when you need liquidity lock data, insider detection, a numeric risk score or an API for bots. Use SOLTidy when you want each mint authority and Token-2022 extension explained in plain language, a holder table you can adjust, and links to the tool that fixes each issue. Many traders run both: they read the same chain, but RugCheck goes further on liquidity and wallets.
RugCheck: A Solana and Fogo token risk scanner that scores tokens and reports liquidity locks, insiders and holder data, with a public API. Facts checked November 5, 2026 from rugcheck.xyz.
Choose SOLTidy if…
- You want every check explained: what the authority does, who holds it, and why it matters.
- You want to untick pool vaults or team wallets and watch holder concentration change.
- You issued the token and want a direct link to revoke mint or freeze authority or lock metadata.
- You want a report that is re-read from the chain on every visit, with nothing stored on a server.
Choose RugCheck if…
- You need to know how much of the pool's LP is locked or burned; RugCheck reports an LP locked percentage per market and the lockers holding it.
- You want insider and connected-wallet detection, which SOLTidy does not do.
- You want a single risk score to sort many tokens quickly, or community votes and a list of recent rugs.
- You are building a bot or app: RugCheck has a documented REST API whose token report endpoint answered us without a key.
- You also trade on Fogo, which RugCheck covers.

Where the two reports overlap
Both tools read the mint account directly, so the core answers match: whether a mint authority can still create tokens, whether a freeze authority can lock holders' accounts, whether the metadata can still change, and which Token-2022 extensions the mint carries. On a Token-2022 mint we tested, RugCheck's report listed the transfer fee config and permanent delegate, the same fields SOLTidy flags.
The difference is presentation. SOLTidy gives each item its own pass, warn or fail row with the address that holds the power and a plain explanation. RugCheck rolls its findings into a risk score with labeled risks, which is faster to scan across many tokens.
What only RugCheck covers
Liquidity is the big one. RugCheck lists each market with its LP mint and an LP locked percentage, plus the locker programs holding LP tokens. SOLTidy finds the pool vaults among the holders but does not check whether the LP itself is burned or locked; for that you need RugCheck or a manual check of the LP mint.
RugCheck also runs insider detection across holder wallets and exposes everything through an API, which matters if you are screening tokens automatically.
Questions & answers
Is RugCheck free?
We found no published price for token reports, and the API's single-token report endpoint answered without a key when we tested it. Bulk report endpoints and actions like voting or token verification require an auth token.
Does RugCheck check if liquidity is locked?
Yes. Its token report includes an LP locked percentage for each market and the lockers holding the LP tokens. SOLTidy's rug check does not verify LP locks.
Is there a RugCheck alternative that explains each risk?
SOLTidy's rug check shows every mint authority, freeze authority, metadata and Token-2022 check as its own row with a plain-language explanation and the address involved. It is free and needs no wallet.
Can a token pass a rug check and still be a scam?
Yes. Both tools read on-chain settings and holder data; neither can see a team's intentions, off-chain promises or a coordinated sell. Treat a clean report as the minimum, not a guarantee.
Do I need to connect my wallet to RugCheck or SOLTidy?
No. Both produce token reports from a mint address alone. Never sign a transaction on a site just to check a token.
The SOLTidy tools in this comparison
- Rug Check Check any Solana token for mint and freeze authority, Token-2022 traps, LP burned or locked per pool, creator holding and top holders.
- Holder Snapshot List every holder of an SPL or Token-2022 mint and export the snapshot as CSV, JSON or TXT.
- Revoke Delegations Find every address allowed to move your tokens and revoke the approvals. Free, and works read-only too.
